Tom (Zhilei) Zheng

PhD Student in Computer Systems, Fullstack Developer, and Hockey Player

I am a third-year PhD student at the University of Pennsylvania, advised by Prof. Jing Li.

I am broadly interested in computer systems, including operating systems, compilers, datacenter architecture, and distributed systems. In particular, I have studied memory disaggregation, OS-level integration of emerging memory and storage, and distributed systems for machine learning.

Beside research, I have a strong passion for teaching. At Penn, I have had the opportunity to teach Ruby on Rails (CIS-196), Operating Systems (CIS-380) and Software & Hardware Systems for Machine Learning (CIS-539).
